The tables provide a warm water massage so they are safe for use by nearly everyone. In general, people with heart or circulatory problems; phlebitis; skin infections or contagious diseases should get their doctor’s approval prior to treatment. Ask for our “Guide to Dry Hydrotherapy” or visit the indications/contraindications page. Additionally, the tables are built to the UL and CSA safety standards and are properly registered with the United States Food and Drug Administration.
The patient lies back completely clothed on the table. Just under the surface is a mattress filled with heated water. A pump propels the warm water towards the patient through our patented hydro-jets. The pressure of the water against the patient’s body provides a kneading massage. The combination of flotation, heat and massage produces the therapeutic effects described below.
Flotation: Water is extremely buoyant. When the body is placed on the water mattress, there is minimal strain on the weight bearing joints. Few, if any muscles are required to hold the body up or in position. This helps the patient’s body relax resulting in an increased physiologic response to treatment.
Heat: Heat is evenly conducted through the skin and into the muscles and soft tissues of the body. The heat expands blood vessels, increases blood and lymphatic circulation, increases metabolism and has a sedative effect.
Massage: The pressure of the water jets knead the soft tissues. The muscle tension yields to the pressure of the water enabling the fibers to elongate and relax. This helps the blood to flow freely and toxins to be released and eliminated. The process helps stimulate the release of endorphins which help relieve pain. When the muscles relax and the pain subsides, your manual therapies are easier on the patient.

The temperature of the water is controlled by an electronic thermostat which is adjustable from 70° to 100° Fahrenheit. Most doctors keep the temperature between 90°-100°. They just set it once and forget it. The temperature of the water takes a long time to change. Therefore, you will not be setting the temperature for each patient. You just set the thermostat and let the table maintain your chosen temperature. (The table must be plugged it at all times for the heater to operate.)
You set the length of treatment with the timer located on the front of the table. You can set it from 3 minutes to 30 minutes and the table will automatically turn off once the time has run out.
Yes. The massage intensity on the Massage Time Pro model is adjustable from 12lbs. to 17lbs. of pressure. The RejuvaWave FB100 and FB200 adjusts from 2lbs. to 20lbs. of pressure. You can create just the right sensation, from gentle and soothing to powerful and invigorating. You select the appropriate level of massage pressure by simply adjusting the control located on the front of the table.
Most doctors keep patients on the table 10-20 minutes. This can vary with each patient as you must consider their specific needs within your treatment plan.

We can’t tell you what to charge. It also varies from doctor to doctor, state to state, insurance company to insurance company. We’ve heard anything from $10.00 up to $30.00 per treatment.
Intersegmental traction tables are specifically designed to introduce motion into the spinal segments. Hydrotherapy tables do provide slight motion to the spine but their main purpose is to heat and massage the soft tissues. This being said, the warm water is much easier on the body than the hard rollers, allowing it to be used on a higher percentage of patients. Additionally, roller tables work each area of the spine only a few times during a normal treatment. Hydrotherapy tables work all 3 areas of the spine throughout each treatment. The heat and massage offered by a Sidmar hydrotherapy are far superior to anything available on a roller table. There are also many people, certainly those with scoliosis, who simply can’t use a roller table. For these people, dry hydrotherapy works very well.
Your patient’s response to dry hydrotherapy over other therapies is astounding. They love the way it makes them feel. Better reaction means higher retention and more positive word of mouth for you. Higher value is what keeps them asking for the therapy over and over again. No other therapy produces these kinds of requests for treatment. Imagine having your patients asking for a therapy over and over again. Imagine how many times they’ll come back because of it.

Not if you use our Clar-Lub conditioner.
The water in the mattress never needs to be changed but because of evaporation, you will need to add water periodically. Adding water is easy. Simply pull back the cloth cover, unscrew the fill cap, remove the inner seal and add distilled water. You should remove any air from the mattress prior to replacing the fill cap. This can be done by sweeping your forearm across the water mattress, starting at the vinyl seat cushion and moving forward toward the fill spout. The air in the mattress won’t harm anything but will cause the table to be a little noisier than normal.
The maintenance is easy.
- Add a water conditioner called Clar-Lub every 3 months. The conditioner costs $9.95 plus postage. Learn more about the conditioner.
- Periodically add water as it evaporates through the microporous vinyl water mattress over time.
- Remove any air from the mattress. This can be done by sweeping your forearm across the water mattress, starting at the vinyl seat cushion and moving toward the fill spout. The air in the mattress won’t harm anything but will cause the table to be a little noisier than normal.

Most repairs are easily done by the owner of the table but in case you need it, we have an extensive service network covering nearly all of the country. They know our product in detail and can help you with any of your needs.
